A’Design Award 2018 – Silver
We are proud to announce that Andromeda, a suspension LED lamp designed in collaboration with Davide Lanfranco for OLEV, has been awarded with the A’Design Award 2018 – Silver in the Lighting Products and Lighting Projects Design Category.
A’ Design Award and Competition aims to highlight the excellent qualifications of best design products worldwide in a wide range of categories. Every year, projects that focus on innovation, technology, design and creativity are awarded with the A’ Award.
The mission of the A’ Award and Competition is to provide a fair, ethical and competitive platform for companies, designers and innovators from all design fields with different experience levels, diverse disciplines and market focus to compete on, while providing them a global audience to showcase their success and talents to.
Andromeda is an innovative lamp with two different light sources, one directed to the bottom and one diffused to the top, which can be switched on or off separately.
The diffused one is based on LED edge lighting technology and creates a starry sky effect thanks to 170 different-sized holes scattered along the lower surface.
The bottom one, also based on LED technology, is accessorized by an innovative and simply-to-use interchangeable lens system which allows the user to adjust in a few seconds the light beam and warmth, thus giving this product a wide flexibility.
The unibody stainless steel structure is incredibly resistant and limited in weight, due to the low thickness adopted.
Thanks to its innovative and appealing design Andromeda won this international and prestigious recognition.
All the winners will be awarded live at the annual ceremony in Italy with a public speech.
The gala night will take place on the 29th of June at Teatro Sociale Como, Piazza Verdi, 1, 22100, Como / Italy.
We wait you all to celebrate together this remarkable achievement.
